DIY #13 – Helping my niece learn the alphabet, part 1

Vera, my niece, watches a lot of YouTube channels in English which ultimately is a good thing, as she learns English alongside Swedish, but it gives her problems learning the alphabet.

My brother jokingly told me that it was up to me, as her godfather, to help her learn the alphabet, so of course I built her something out of cheap insulation, old wood and a discarded curtain.

The video got a bit too long to release in one go so you’ll have to settle for a cliffhanger for now, and the thrilling conclusion in a week or so.

If you like the video, please hit that thumbs up and maybe subscribe to the channel, and if you didn’t like it, give it a thumbs down. None the less, thanks for watching!

DIY #12 – Restoring my pond, part 1

I have a lot of projects I did directly after I moved to this property. Some of them worked out great, some not so much. In this case I simply underestimated the amount of upkeep a pond requires and I ignored it for far too long.

Not anymore! This ends today, or I will die trying!

Probably not, but I will restore it as well as add the features I always intended for it to have. This will take quite some time though, hence the episodic format.

Thanks for watching! Please subscribe if you want to keep up with my antics, it really helps the channel a lot.

Quick Tip #10 – Always use full face protection with wire wheels!

I know I keep telling you to stay safe but this particular one is especially important. Ask me how I know…

DYI #11 – Fixing a patch of lawn after my robo mower dug it up

My robo mower, like many of his ilk, has a bad habit of digging holes in the lawn when they get stuck. Just repairing the lawn by filling in the hole isn’t good enough as he’ll just dig a new hole.

In this video I show you how I prevent him from digging a new hole, as well as how I join two guide wires together to make them weather resistant.

There’s also some footage of me being a dumbass, because why not.

If you like the video, please give it a thumbs up, and if you didn’t, please let me know in the comments why. Subscribe if you’d like to keep up with what I do.

Thanks for watching!

DIY #10 – Can you build an ultrasonic cleaner from ordinary speakers?

The short answer is “No.” The long answer is “Noooooooooooooooooo.” Well, at least I can’t.

I shouldn’t really be possible – or else all ultrasonic cleaners would use speakers – but I’ve never let logic stand in my way before so why start now?

If you like the video, please give it a thumbs up and share it with friends. If you didn’t like it, let me know why in the comments.

Quick Tip #8 – Drilling half a hole

Just a quick tip on how to drill half a hole (lengthwise – not sure how’d you drill a half-moon shaped hole).

I used this on the frames of my sound dampening panels I have in my office to help align the nails I use for hanging them on the wall.

There’s no need to miss the mark though, I did that to show how care-free and easygoing I am. Live and let live, y’know?

DIY #9 – Welding a lumber rack

No, this isn’t a re-upload of my previous video, it just happens to be a very similar one, except for the complexity of the project.

This is the first “proper” welding project I did but the racks are still up there after well over a year so even though the welds look like the south end of a northbound monkey they are holding up.
